Three things to know about FDA-authorized trials
A quick explainer on how FDA-authorized clinical trials work.
About
Zhittya Genesis Medicine is a clinical-stage biotechnology company in Las Vegas, Nevada. It is developing FGF-1, an investigational protein.
Zhittya Genesis Medicine studies FGF-1, a protein the body makes naturally that signals the growth of new small blood vessels. The people who lead the company have worked on FGF-1 since 1998.
Since May 2022, Zhittya has been studying FGF-1 in people living with Parkinson's. It makes the FGF-1 used in its research at its lab in Reno, Nevada.
Brain imaging in this research is done at Washington University in St. Louis. The first result is in the data section of the research page.

Chief Executive Officer
Dan spent 30 years in investment banking, where he helped start close to 100 companies built around new technologies. He left finance in 1998 to work on biotechnology full time. He holds an MBA from the University of Southern California.

President and Chief Science Officer
Dr. Jacobs has worked in drug development for more than 25 years, including starting a biological chemistry department at Merck. Earlier in his career he oversaw FDA-authorized clinical trials of FGF-1 in coronary artery disease, diabetic foot ulcers and peripheral artery disease. He holds a PhD in molecular biology from Washington University in St. Louis.

Executive Vice President
Viktoriya has worked in biotechnology for more than 20 years, including technology transfer from Ukraine to the United States, clinical trial development and research into new uses of angiogenesis medicines. She speaks six languages.

Vice President of Operations
Judy joined Dan Montano in 2004, when FGF-1 was being studied in severe heart disease and diabetic foot ulcers. She manages the contracts, regulatory filings and operations that surround clinical studies.

Clinical Trial Manager
Jacqueline holds a master's degree in biotechnology from the University of Nevada, Reno. Her background is in immunodiagnostics, microbiology and analytical chemistry in regulated laboratories.

Research Scientist II
Tezo holds bachelor's and master's degrees in biotechnology from the University of Nevada, Reno. He has worked in protein expression and purification, genomics, and patient care.

Research Scientist I
Emily holds a master's degree in biotechnology and a bachelor's degree in biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of Nevada, Reno. Her research experience spans molecular biology, reproductive physiology and cancer biology.

Business Information Specialist
Owen holds a bachelor's degree in computer science and engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno. He has built software since high school, including a prototype biometric lock designed to reduce opioid diversion in pharmacies.

Vice President of Business Operations
Khiry brings experience in management, marketing and software to Zhittya's operations and outreach.

Vice President of Drug Development
Daniel has worked in biotechnology for 10 years and assists with the manufacturing of FGF-1.

Vice President of Marketing
Sergiy leads Zhittya's marketing and has worked across the company since 2017. He holds a degree in business administration from the University of California, Irvine, and studied at the Universitat de Barcelona. He speaks English, Spanish and Russian.
